Definition

Used when: in the source argument, the speaker communicates a positive or negative evaluation of the situation or utterance in the target argument.

i.e. This is evaluating That

Examples

(1) Student: We just finished.
(2) Teacher: Awesome.

The speaker communicates that they regard that the student has finished positively. The speaker is evaluating the student's completion of some task.
